Welcome to Rising Star Pony Club
Pony Club is one of the leading junior equestrian organizations in the world, represented throughout 30 countries! The United States has over 600 individual Clubs spread throughout 48 states and the Virgin Islands, with more than 12,000 members.
It is not necessary for a child to own a horse or pony, but they must have access to one when required. Programs are offered in dressage, eventing, show jumping, mounted games, tetrathlon, quiz, vaulting, foxhunting, and polocrosse.
During "unmounted" meetings members learn about feeding, shoeing, veterinary care, and other areas of horse management. Under adult supervision, the more experienced Pony Club members instruct and assist younger members. Parent volunteers help make the club run smoothly and Pony Club is a wonderful way to spend quality time with your young rider!
Rising Star Pony Club draws members from Riverside, Gavilan Hills, Lake Mathews, Perris and Nuevo. Our main riding location is in Gavilan Hills. We are currently recruiting new members and would love to have you come and watch one of our mounts. We typically hold two mounts (riding lessons) and one unmounted lesson per month, plus we have game days, family gatherings, field trips to local equestrian events and facilities, yearly summer camp in Fallbrook and compete in rallies in the winter and spring. This past spring, Rising Star sent competitors to the Dressage Rally in Ramona, the Stadium Jumping Rally in Poway and the Tetrathalon Rally in Fallbrook. Our members did very well and had a lot of fun competing. Several of our members just returned from Camp and it was fantastic!!
RSPC is also considering starting a Horsemasters Club which consists of Pony Club alumni who have aged-out of Pony Club, parents who ride or want to learn how and other adults in the community who would like to be part of an adult riding club and have some time and knowledge to volunteer to the Pony Club at events during the year. Lessons, both mounted and unmounted that follow the Pony Club curriculum as well as social opportunities with like-minded horse people are benefits of membership.
If you'd like to check us out, please email Dana Stark through the Forum. Happy Riding!!
